How long do castings last?
The duration of a casting process varies from casting to casting. As a rule, castings can last from 30 minutes to 3 days or even longer. Depending on the number of participants and the process of the casting.
Are there criteria for castings?
All casting criteria are displayed in the respective post. If you feel attracted by the job offer, that’s half the battle. If a casting takes place abroad, you should make sure that you have the possibility to travel. A valid passport, identity card or similar means of Identification would be required. Some Clients and Agencies pay the travel and accommodation for the casting, not always but it its always worth asking!
What is an E-Casting?
An E-Casting is the performance of an artist or model for the client or agency through video. If time is limited or it is too pricey for the artist to appear at a very far away live casting, then an e-casting is extremely practical. This electronic casting is a self tape video (recorded on the phone) where the artist introduces him-/herself and plays/acts/dances… a small part of the desired role. It is good to be well equipped, including a ring light, a good phone/camera and a nice, quiet, neutral space.
How do I prepare myself for a casting?
Practice and be well prepared and trained for your role. Make sure you are physically fit and have enough sleep before. Stay hydrated. Don’t overdress and don’t underdress, find the golden middle in styling, hair and make up. Everything should look neat, but most importantly be comfy, be yourself and trust yourself and your art!
